This year’s conference theme is “A New Era in Nuclear Technology”.

The global market for SMRs is expected to reach $72.4 billion by 2033, with the data center energy crisis driving huge growth potential for SMRs players who can provide a scalable, flexible and economical decarbonized solution.

Argentina launched the “Argentine Nuclear Plan” which prioritizes the development of domestically designed Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) which is lead by INVAP. The plan marks a major nuclear strategy shift inculding deployment of four ACR-300 small modular reactors and restarting uranium mining and enrichment. Brazil is also developing and considering Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) to diversify its energy matrix, provide reliable base load power, and address climate change challenges like drought. Brazil’s Minister of Mines and Energy has reportedly said he expects the development of a small modular reactor project in the near future.
